Hi Everyone,
I'm in Canada. My dashboard shows that I am being paid:
Total = $1,135 CAD
This is a message I've received from my guest:
They are charging me an additional $209. Total was charged in US funds and converted to CA on my bill. Final bill is $1344.56.
Can anyone help? Can I cancel the reservation and have them re-book? Looks like it's a currency thing.
Thank-you,
Jeremy
That sounds about right, not sure what the issue is the difference would be ABB fees.
Thanks for the reply!
It says the ABB fees are $35, which would make sense. This is more than $200 difference.
Is there any way for the guest to contact AirBNB? The difference in the $$ doesn't show up on my end so I don't want to lose the difference, but it's this persons first time using AirBNB and I don't want to lose the booking.
The Guest fee varies, the Guest has a contact number on their confirmation and a breakdown on their invoice.
ABB fees would be around $150 for a Guest.
Host service fees are 3~5% of the booking subtotal and is deducted from your payout. Guest service fees are 5~15% of the reservation subtotal.
So depending on what % of fees are applied, it could be max 20% of your "nightly fee x # of nights booked". Also, if there are taxes that Airbnb needs to collect, that will be added on to what the guest is charged. Plus I agree that there could be some impact from FX rates. But these things can all add up to me quite a bit more than expected 🙂
Hope this helps~
