i had recently booked an airbnb for my may family trip to japan

i had booked under 

however due to this virus outbreak. both japan and malaysia government has locked down the countries

we have problem coming in and travelling out 

when i asked for cancellation refund from host. he did not address my issues

really sad. during this outbreak time also ppl tends and wants to make money rather than take care the

societly

bear in mind that this is not what we asked for. but it really leaves us no choice.

we hope airbnb and host will revisit my request again at least to pay me something back during this time

rather to make our money.

airbnb has so kind refunded me the sales tax.

we hope to hear from you again soon

@Pauline567  This is a discusion forum for hosts and guests, not Airbnb itself. If I were you, I would contact Airbnb again and send them documantation that the country is locked down and you can't go there. You should be eligible for a 100% refund, whether the host agrees or not. The host obviously can't host you if there are no flights allowed in, so he can't just keep your money. (actually the host doesn't have your money at this point, Airbnb does)

Thank you Sarah. I had written to both Airbnb n d host. But host refuse to help during this sad time. Rather to make money. I wish to seek for professional help to trade my problem. Many thanks

@Pauline567  Many times the customer service rep you get when contacting Airbnb is clueless or unhelpful. I'd suggest you try again, but don't just message back the CS rep you were dealing with- start again, as if asking for the first time. If you don't get a more helpful rep, ask them to escalate the case to a supervisor.
