The list of amenities has caused confusion for our guests. We do not provide bed sheets/pillow cases, but you have that listed under essentials along with towels, toilet paper, soap, pillows which we do provide. "Bed Sheets" needs to be removed since you changed your rules about not needing to provide sheets.
Until Air BNB reprograms the essentials amenity, perhaps you be more up front about the lack of sheets in your listing. Your photos of the beds could show the duvet turned down and the beds empty of sheets along with your caption highlighting the lack of sheets.
Your target market must be travelers who can supply their own sheets, so it would be important to make that very, very clear. Your listing is so appealing it would be a shame for the guest to misunderstand.
I absolutely agree with you and like the idea of adding it to the caption. We do provide sheets upon request for those who can't travel with them but at an additional laundry fee. It's just a pain to have to discuss this with every guest when instead it could be more clear in the listing with an Airbnb fix.
Hi Lisa1196, I looked at your listing its is amazing.
You need to provide sheets is easy answer. A place of that caliber price range has to have sheets. That why airbnb has as essential.
On Amazon there is an airbnb listing dose (quick drying sheets & pillow cases ) specifically for airbnb. White is the only color to be used for rentals. ( Standard rule ! ) they are very affordable.
I understand not wanting to do washing, just factor it into the cleaning fee.
You need three sets each bed. fitted sheet, flat sheet and duvet cover, pillow cases. This allows for easy changing and accidents.

There is a long tradition at vacation, both mountain and beach, homes in the USA that does not include providing sheets. It just is what it is. @Lisa1196 does not HAVE to provide sheets, though being absolutely clear in both the listing narrative and follow-up messages would be prudent.
Thank you for your kind response. We provide pillows, duvet covered bedspreads and mattress pads. In a beach community we have found sheets to get ruined by the use of oils and suntan lotions on people who get into bed before showering that stuff off thus the need to NOT provide sheets. We do own plenty of sheets and will provide with an extra fee as we pay a laundry service to wash them.
Airbnb no longer considers sheets and pillow cases "essential", so they really need to remove that from the amenity check-off list.
