I have a listing on the beautiful island Zanzibar in the indian ocean.
I´ve been a host for almost 1 year. I´ve been hosting many different peoples.
I´ve noticed a pattern in the reviews I get from my guests.
The experienced airbnb guests gives me a better review then the inexperienced guests. The experienced user are use to stay at airbnb accomondations and they know how it works and what to expect.
The inexperienced guests on the other hand doesn´t get it at all. They tend to ask a million questions about everything. They seems to belive that I´m not only renting out my house, I should also act as tourist information, weather forcast, marine biologist, taxi service, environmental expert, 24 houres full service hotel reception, food critic etc.
Of course I answer all the question I get as good as I can according to my ability. And belive me, I spend alot of time answering these questions.
But in the end it turns out that they are not satisfyed any way. They always find something to complain about. It seems to me that they don´t get the idea with airbnb. That I rent my private home to an affordable price. And I am very clear in my description what you get and what you don´t get. Still they expect a five star hotel.
It has come to that point that I don´t want to risk my reputation with any more bad reviews from these inexperienced airbnb users.
My question is. Can I deny inexperienced airbnb users?
Can I do that without breaking the Airbnb nondiscrimination policy?
I have the instant book function.
