Cancellation

Cancellation

I denied a cancellation as the person asked for lower rate, and after reading her reviews and seeing several others wrote that she was a demanding difficult guest. However after I denied she was able to rebook at regular wait. Just wondering why she was able to book after being denied??

@Marilyn147If the guest meets your Instant Book criteria, they can go ahead and Instant Book with you even if you have declined their booking request. I know it doesn't make sense, but that's the way it works. I would give Airbnb a call and ask them to cancel the booking: you're allowed to do that penalty-free if you're not comfortable with an Instant Booking.

Thanks for your reply, they did cancel without penalty but said if I needed to switch from instabook to review if I wanted to have more control over booking. I did this but it also says I will get fewer bookings and other changes in how it is posted. I take most bookings , I just don't want to take ones that have had more than on bad review especially if both reviews are saying the same thing. Just seems like your asking for trouble.

Next time you get an inquiry from someone you DON'T want to host, click on "report this user" and block them. It's what I 've always done just in case they try to book anyway~ (which is something I really don't understand - why do people book with a host when clearly, they are not welcome?)

Were able to do this and stay on instant booking 0r did Change booking to other option??

Perhaps she was being a good consumer and looking for a bargain, nothing wrong with asking! And when you said no, she still wanted the place.
