Changing Cover Photo. Good or Bad Idea?

Ive had the same cover photo since listing my property on AB&B just over 12 months ago.  I would like to change the photo to see if it attracts more views/bookings.  Do you see any issues with that?

It is a good idea to try different cover phots and see what is the best.

I have changed my cover photos many times.

@J-Renato0 Many thanks for your advise, think I’ll try it : )

@Annette136, I often change my photos and in fact, I have read from numerous sources that changing things on our listings - photos,  title, in text verbiage, pricing, etc, can increase rankings. I don't know if there's any truth to this, but I believe, on the other hand, it certainly doesn't hurt.

@John1080 Thanks for the help John!  I think you may have something there : )

I looked at your photos, and I think the one you have is absolutely the most appealing. The geraniums do it for me! Wouldn't change (unless you take even better ones???).

Have never changed mine.

@Sandra126 Wow!!  What a beautiful place you have!!!  Cheers for the advise : )

I've been thinking of changing mine, but then I was thinking what if past guests are trying to find it again, show it to friends, etc, wouldn't that make it more difficult?

And most of my guests say they were sold on the place when they saw the photos (which Airbnb says 75% of are "too dark" or "too blurry 🙂

@Sarah977

Maybe some of them are a bit on the dark and blurry side but, hey, so are mine Sarah! But personally I like your last shot No 15. The creativeness from the paving to that rock wall garden in that shot tells me that this is a fine host and this would be a fine stay!

Cheers.....Rob

@Robin4  Thanks. That rock wall is actually my downstairs shower surround. I don't show the inside of that shower in my listing because guests have their own shower upstairs, this one is mine. But the rock wall shower is one of my favorite things that I did here. It's actually outside, but covered, with a door into the bathroom from there.Inside of showerInside of shower

@Sarah977 I was thinking the exact same thing!  What if past guests can’t find my listing?  But then I guess it would be on their Airbnb account and my listing name hasn’t changed, sooooo shouldn’t be a problem! BTW I love those wrought iron stairs from the mosaic tiles : ).  They sold me! Thanks for your help.

@Sarah977, yes, they are blurry. But I really love image 5 of the exterior. If your guests have stayed before I think they would recognise the exterior anyway!

@Sandra126  Actually, I am going to change some of them. It's a challenge to take good pictures of the guest space, because it's small- hard to stand back far enough to get it all in. But I'm working on it. Glad you like the outside shot- that's one Airbnb marked as too blurry .-(

@Sarah977, my smallest space was impossible to photograph, so I ended up taking the shot from OUTSIDE the window, the only way I could stand back a bit. Also the bathroom was hard, did it through the open door.

Standing outside, taking pic through window!

@Sandra126 I love that room! Unfortunately, although there's lots of windows in the guest bedroom, they're all on the 3 sides of the room that are 2 stories high. So I have to stand on the balcony and shoot the guest bedroom towards the bed through the open door, but the balcony is only a meter wide as well- I have to try not to tumble backwards over the balcony wall 🙂
