Crappy reviews lol

I am not going to reply, but I really want to lol. Very strange also, he removed his Profile picture, FaceBook and Government ID as of this morning. Overall was a 5*, but a 4 in two categories. Who on earth leaves a review after a 9 day stay that says "Very comfortable and excellent equipped house to make roasts" end of review. Got nailed with a 4 on location again, but the real kicker here is I got a 4 on cleanliness also. Areas for Improvement: Kitchen Table - Kitchen Stains. It's a rustic $2,399 Pottery Barn Table it's meant to look distressed with marks of age and wear, old with nicks, burnt areas and varying stain colors. All my dining tables and buffets are distressed I bought them for that look. We asked in Spainish of course what was wrong: Good morning XXXX, we have never received a four in cleaning please if you can tell me where were the stains in the kitchen so that this does not happen again. Thank you , Letti. His reply "Old table many stains." so in his mind HE considered this stained and dirty! WTF it's a brand new table!

Ugh, some just don’t get it! I would put “rustic” in the discription, and maybe cover your 4 Star by stating, rustic sometimes confused with worn and stained. ? I’m struggling to compensate for a “cluttered” comment!

Yep. "Those" guests are the bane of our existence. Luckily you have enough reviews for Airbnb to see its an outlier. Still there should be a policy about guest first amendment rights versus clearly inaccurate reviews and comments (even private ones).

@Letti0

You are a very strong person....... I don't think I'd be able to keep myself from responding with a (sarcastic~) "I'm sorry if our very new rustic and distressed-style Pottery Barn Table looked old and was not to your liking."

Hi Letti,

the exact same thing happened to me.

I needed a 4 meter = 12 feet long dining table that seats 12. It's almost impossible to buy such table in a store. So I had it made. The tabletop had been brushed with a special electric brush from Festo so that the structure of the wood comes out, then handstained in dark mahagony and then handwaxed. The table looks real old and it was expensive to have it look like that.

All my guests love that table, exept one: Comment = Tabletop is dirty.

@Ute42  Mine seats 12 also and it's dark mahagony. I can't beleive their was another person who would think like my jerk, lol. Like you I get compliments on it all the time.

After reading this I will be having nightmares over possible negative comments regarding my furniture! I have just started renting out my whole home for the first time with my first guests now staying. The week of stress trying to get everything in order was like moving from Australia to Ireland with my pup all over again! I'm really worried someone might take offence of my hand painted Asian cabinets- too colourful? What is it with some guests? Are they trying to look for something to complain about and making it up? Must need to create drama to justify their existence. By the way, your table is gorgeous, I would have it any day!

@Letti0The kitchen table in my Airbnb is also from Pottery Barn: I love that place.

People definitely come up with some bizarre complaints.

@Alexandra316  All my places the 2 rentals and the venue were all furnished from Williams and Sonoma, Pottery Barn and A Touch of Class. Those are my 3 favorite stores to shop.

@Letti0I don't think we have A Touch of Class here, but I have stuff from W & S in my listings also. Their excellent corkscrew system is the one I have for guests in my main lising.

@Alexandra316  It's only online. I got my stained glass lamps, drapes, accents, bathroom items and oil paintings from them. Their quality is great on with all things I have purchased just like with W&S and Pottery Barn. I am sure the ship to Canada.

@Alexandra316  This is the one I went with except mine is stainless steel and was $299. They must have discontinued the all stainless one recently. It works great, I also have 3 other styles available in case they can't figure out how to use that one lol...

@Letti0Yep, that's the same one I have! I like it because it has the various lenghts of screw, so people can change it out if they have something old. We're in wine country, and the bottles of wine that people drink while they're staying with us sometimes surprise me.

@Alexandra316  Just an FYI my own one my husband broke the screw thingy on it, the Le Creuset online site sells a replacement for it and I was able to repair rather than replace it.
