One of our favourite things to do with guests is a surprise visit to a local plaza where they can try the local delicacie Balut. It’s amazing how adventurous most are. What’s your local delicacy?

Not my cup of tea...but indeed a challenge.
Our speciality are locally produced Frisian products like "Sûkerbôle", most guest do appreciate it:

@David-and-Fiona0 and @Emiel1:
You guys! White bread with lumps of sugar? An egg shell with... Okay, never mind. I cannot talk, since the Canadian dish everyone talks about is [shudder] poutine.
There are delicacies in my woods, though. I show guests where to find the wild asparagus and wild garlic. I don't show anyone, even my husband, because he cannot be trusted not to crack under questioning, where to find the morels.
Lobsters!
Henry and I love gopchang 🙂 We actually had some last week~~

And then there is san-nakji~ (which I also had last week..... )

According wikipedia it is even a greater challenge to eat, because the octopus-arms are still moving and can choke the consumer....
