How are the 90 nights per year in Nw Orleans counted and submitted to the City?

I want to know how Airbnb tracks the 90 nights available and reports them to the city of New Orleans. It is legal in New Orleans to have a 30 day rental. It does not count as a short term rental if it is more than 30 days. My question is, if We rent our place through airbnb for more than 30 nights how is that reported to the city? Will it count against the 90 nights we are allotted even though 30 nights in a row or more is NOT considered short term rental and IS legal in New Orleans? This is not a LEGAL question. This is a functional question. We have had inquiries for people wanting to stay for as long as 6 months. We would love to do this through airbnb as it is several thousands of dollars per month coming in and like the functionality of Airbnb. But if the system is set up so that every night counts towards the 90 available per year for short term then this is a problem that needs to be resolved on the technical side of things. This is the previous response we received to this question but were not allowed to further communicate as it shows the case was closed:

Perhaps have two separate listings - one for monthly rentals only and one for short term ?
