Message Sent After Reservation is Confirmed

Hello AirBnb Community,

I know I set up an automatic message to be sent to guests once they reserve our space a few months ago, but now I cannot find it! In this message, I asked guests to let us know the purpose of their visit, how many pets and what type, when they'd be arriving, etc.

Can anyone help me find this message on the dashboard or website? I need to update it, as we will no longer be able to accept pets (another set of barking dogs last night).

Thanks!

that booking message is in your booking settings (think pricing, extra guests, etc)

95 of of 100 of my guests ignore it anyway, so I have a Saved Message created to request the info that they didn't send the first time.

Do you mean the "your welcome message before booking" under Guest Requirements? I have added a message there today. I still think there was another option, and I actually think my guests were honoring it, as I have been receiving messages with more specifics in it since I added it. That said, I like your idea of the Saved Message very much and will do that as well.

Thanks for the quick response, Kelly. Much appreciated!

Hi Heidi

I have the same problem - have changed the welcome message but guests still get the older message and answer questions from that. Seems it's 'stuck' on that one somewhere. Have opened a ticket with support - let's hope they have a solution! Will let you know if they do 🙂

@Heidi248

The best way to state your policy on pets is to put in your house rules so that guests find it out before they book, not in a welcome message after.

Follow this screenshot to activate....'no pets'!

Booking settings.png

You will now be faced with a page that looks like this.....

Just remember to click 'Save changes'  before you exit this page!

If you follow this advice you will no longer be bothered with pets.

You will notice I have also highlighted in blue on the first screenshot where you will find your welcomne message that guests receive after they book!

You can also edit this at any time!

Good luck Heidi.

Cheers......Rob

Hi Rob, Thank you so very much for this incredibly thorough message!

I had easily found the no pets allowed button in the Bookings settings before you wrote.

I do appreciate your pointing out the guest trip information message. Indeed, I had also put a new message there previous to posting my question to this forum.  I know I had written a message there in August, but it seemed to have disappeared - this definitely contributed to my confusion.

Per your suggestion, I have also added no pets allowed under the house rules section.

So I believe I am covered.

Thanks again!

I find the Airbnb messaging options to be kind of confusing and clunky. I choose to send messages via another more reliable software called Smartbnb. You could check it out at: https://smartbnb.io/messaging. It might meet your needs more than the options Airbnb provides.

Thanks, Andrew. I will check that out!
