Rates changed but we didn't make the changes

Rates changed but we didn't make the changes

Today when we were updating our calendar, we noticed rates for some advanced dates were changed (again) to a lower rate.  Not for the entire month but a weekend or two of a particular month (rates for the rest of the month are fine). What's strange is that we didn't make these changes.  This is happening every so often.  Like any technology, probably a glitch that's happening.  It's happening often enough that now we're thinking we should check rates/calendar daily to ensure it's correct before someone book.

Anyone discovered a solution for this?  Or heard from Airbnb as to why this may be happening?

Hi @Martin-and-Phuong0

Do you have Smart Pricing turned on.  When you have Smart Pricing enabled, the prices, including weekends are overridden by Smart Pricing. This is also covered in the article which covers Smart Pricing: https://www.airbnb.com/help/article/1168/smart-pricing--set-prices-based-on-demand

It states that, "Once you turn on Smart Pricing, your prices will be automatically updated within the parameters you set. Smart Pricing works for all open nights on your calendar, and you can still set custom prices for specific days."

If you wish to have Smart Pricing, you need to go into your calendar and override all your weekends manually and then they will stay locked in. For this reason, as a fellow host, I do not use Smart pricing as I like to have full control of my pricing.

@Dave-and-Deb0Appreciate your help. Very much aware of the features with Smart Pricing and it's definitely not on.

Pardon me @Martin-and-Phuong0, you did not mention your skill level.  I would take a closer look at your listing to help you but don't want to step on your own toes.  Let me know if you want me to take a look.

It happens to me too! I have spoken to Airbnb about it and it's drastic changes. I wish they had seasonal weekend options cause some months are busier than others!

my house is near the snow so of course I charge more injuly and August, but then they go change them to ridiculous prices

Hi,

can you let me know if there is a possibilty of seasonal changes as we are in a similar position.

kind regards

Our rates keep getting changed to a ridiculously high price.  Anyone else experienced this.  We charge $135 per night for a city apartment. We are now having to check approx four times daily.  Has anyone else experienced this?  we've changed our password three times and have smart pricing on.  Airbnb often suggest a lower price, but we feel someone is possibly hacking?

feedback really appreciate.

Hi,

this exact thing has just happened to me, although I have not turned on smart pricing, prices changed to extremely low rates last night and I had an instant book this morning to these prices. Am in contact with AirBnB  about this and really do hope they fix this.
