Hello fellow hosts, quick question. I have my first guest have to cancel and I have a strick refund policy and haven't had to make a decision or act on a refund yet. I approved her cancelation and she received a small portion back from Airbnb now I said okay for a full refund but how do I refund money that I haven't received
@Dawn159 you should not have to do anything. Wait for Airbnb to send you refund requests that you can review and approve if you agree.
(And I hope when you say you "approved her cancelation" that you did not actually receive and approve one of those tricky "the guest requests you to cancel" messages.)
Thank you, Airbnb did reach. Ackmto me within seconds of this problem and issues her the refund with my approval. She was the one who cancelled. I won't be giving refunds moving forward! My season is short and o lost a weekend!
@Dawn159 Bookings are not a guarantee of income, but the cancellation policies can help mitigate the loss if properly processed. If the guest is not refunded !00% due to the cancellation policy, I advise the guest that I will refund the rest of the payment should the dates be rebooked. More often than not, the dates are rebooked. This step is not required by Air BNB terms, but I like to operate as fairly as I can.
