I've just accepted a reservation request from someone who said they would be travelling it's their father and two friends. Now that I can see their I'd verification I can see that they are quite young and I'm worried It might just be a group of young guys renting and not a father and son as I thought. Any advice please?
You can message them and let them know that you expected a father and son and it appears this is untrue. Tell them that you do not accept bookings which are not "as described" and that you will be unable to host them this time. It is your choice whether or not to accept this and they need to find another place. 🙂
@Jeanette9 Just adding to @Carolyn5's comment, if you feel that the guests that will be coming are not as described in the reservation request, contact Airbnb for guidance. Don't cancel without the assistance of Airbnb. Click on the link below to see all the ways to get in touch with Airbnb.
thank you Clare ...I appreciate your advice - I've messaged the person and asked them to confirm who is in their group and if that fails I will then contact Airbnb, I was just worried about the penalties if I do decide I need to cancel as it doesn't seem that this scenario would fit with the cancellation criteria....
I think that once you contact Airbnb, not only will they be willing to confirm the actual guests on your behalf but, if they find anything false in the provided information, I am willing to bet that they will be happy to cancel it for you. You absolutely cannot be expected to host guests that are not approved by you...period.
