Room type

With only three types of rooms selections, we have had at least one guest confused by our choice of room type.

Our place is a private guest suite, it has it's own private entrance and no shared common space. We choose the 'Entire Place' type since we tehnically do not have any shared common spaces with our guests.

Although we titled our listing as private guest suite and are very detailed on the listing on what is and isn't included, we had a booking that assumed we offered the entire house despite all the info and pictures we provided.

I undertand the reasons for limiting the room types but these could be altered from saying 'Entire Home' to private space for example.

If I could suggest the room types, it would be private space, private room with some shared space and shared space with limited privacy.

@Juli-and-Brian0, AirBnB could offer a room type that fits your situation precisely, and there still will be confused guests. Even if AirBnB added a room type called "Clearwater Harbor private suite inside our 1920 Bungalow home", there would still be confused guests.

The fault generally lies with the guests not reading the description carefully (or at all).

I read your listing. I don't know how many times one can describe precisely what the guests are booking, but your description clearly approaches the mathematical limit.

Your description is completely clear and informs the guests several times exactly what the situation is. It is a testament to clarity and comprehensiveness. Your listing description should probably be printed out and put up in the AirBnB office waiting room as an inspirational example, like Max Ehrmann's "Desiderata".

There still will be confused AirBnB guests.
