finding experiences by host

I am in the process of possibly renting an apartment for a longer period with a contract. So this does not concern a normal Airbnb experience. Rather the man offering the apartment I would possibly rent wants Airbnb to mediate since he is out of the country. So according to him they would show me the apartment in order to verify that is real. He claims that he has been an Airbnb host for 4 years, but I would like to view the experiences people had when dealing with him. Is there a way of doing this knowing only his name? Has anyone any experience with this? Personally I am a little sceptical but was wondering if anyone can verify this manner of transacting a renting contract.
