host changing booking dates

HI Folks,

I'm in England, near Brighton I've had a booking for the bank holiday weekend. 

My question is can I request different dates to those the guest has requested?

• Guest wants house for 3 days from Sat 27th - Tue 30th Aug. 

• Ideally, I want either a 3 night stay from Fri 26th until Mon 29th

• OR a 4 night stay from Fri 26th until Tue 30th.

Can I tell a guest this requirement?  I don't want to reduce my response rate by not giving him the dates he's asked for.

Be great help to hear your advice on how to respond.

If I loose this booking (there will be more as its bank holiday), not sure how to feature dates I want on the calendar, so appreciate your advice

Hi Sarah, I'm a host also in Brighton. dates are dictated by the guest not the host. I would say those dates sound as though it could be a parent settling in a student to their accomadation - which takes place beteen 26th to 30th Aug for the current term. The only things you can do with your Calendar is block specific dates or set a 3 day minimum in settings but that becomes fixed throughout until you change it back to 2 days if you want to later. I do agree it would be a helpful feature to be able to select Bank holidays as 3 day minimums along with other festival dates - but I don't believe that's possible.

Hi if it's only an inquiry you can respond with a message and use the special offer to propose your alternate dates. If already booked you need to use change request.

In the future I would set increased minimum stays as special pricing as was suggested.
