I have got an answer for that which might be helpful as I have called Airbnb today to inquire on something very similar myself. It seems they are a doing a maintenance update and its affecting quite a few things. I had 2 separate Booking requests that came in today at the same time and both parties messages weren't appearing in its entirety (thank goodness I have email notifications that send their FULL messages to me via email)
I also noticed that my messages were going in the opposite direction on the message thread as well.
Here's something else I found out. A guests and/or a host can both request to have a review removed even after its been posted. I was quite surprised to hear this, but its true. So maybe that's the answer as to why yours are missing but I highly doubt if you are missing more then one. You can always call them or contact via Twitter to ask Airbnb this question. The twitter account responds usually in 10-15 mins and very helpful in looking into this matter for you. You can reach them by @AirbnbHelp as thats their user name. Good Luck.
