I had to make this post because Airbnb doesn't allow us to attach any photos/videos when we write reviews.
I had to evacuate from this bed-bug place in August 2023 in London.
I found two bed bugs --one on a pillow,
and one on a wooden bed frame (when I was inspecting the bed in the dark because I knew that bed bugs are more active in the dark).
Basically, both the host and Airbnb stubbornly refused to make any refund even after I provided solid, clear evidence of photos/videos (I wish I could attach the videos here as well, but it seems not possible here).
By the way, after this evacuation, I have been completely bug-free.
No problem in ALL places (hotel for 1 night + another Airbnb place with kind, caring host) I stayed after this evacuation,
no bugs on any of my belongings, no itch whatsoever.
I'm done with Airbnb. I will not use it again.
They will NOT help you to shelter you after you evacuate from a bed-bug place, to cancel the reservation, nor to get you a refund.
Hope you will all be aware of this and stay safe.

Hi @Kanami2! I am really sorry to hear about this bed bug incident and seems like it resulted in an unpleasant experience for you!
Since you posted it a while ago, did you happen to get in touch with the Host or Airbnb Support teams regarding this again?
Hello,
No, I already spent ridiculous amount of time for messaging with the host and support team people (Warmin L., Ruby, Chenny, April, Jaquelyn) and NONE of them helped me to get refund, so I just don’t trust them anymore.
Thank you.
If you are booking for friends and families, you aren’t eligible for a refund unless you were staying with them.
Btw, sorry to hear about the bug thing.
No, it was for myself. Not for families or friends. I was the one who found the bugs & reported in the room I booked.
call Airbnb again. if it was a true bed bug , you should have got your refund. check this person’s reviews. did any one else complain? i will be very suspicious if there’s no other complaint.
I called them SO many times but they insisted that those photos & video I took were “insufficient” as evidence. It is ridiculous. That is why I am spreading the awareness. You better not to use Airbnb because they have zero willingness to protect customers. Instead, they blame victims and rob money from them.
I even had a guest canceled using a fake sticker and it will be hard to believe you can’t cancel with real bug photos.
It’s possible that the listing was never having bugs before and indeed, you need to prove your claim with evidences.
So now you’re saying that it was a fake? I’m sorry that fake sticker situation happened to you, but who would ever wish to be thrown out to the street in the middle of the night by using “fake evidence” and wandering around the city until 3:45am to finally find a temporary space to stay one night… Then I booked another safe bug-free space through Airbnb to show that I do actually need a room for the rest of the trip. I have receipt from the temporary accommodation for the night too. And I kept asking them to cancel the bug place, and they didn’t do anything.
