Cannot register - verification SMS not received

Cannot register - verification SMS not received

I would like to pay for a room, but I cannot register as a new user. Airbnb says that the SMS was sent, but I didn't receive it. I am from Slovenia. The error is not on my side because I tried everything: all forms of my number, other numbers, calls, Facebook login, different browsers and app, different days etc. Verification with WhatsApp worked, but I'm still not allowed to register. I tried calling the phone number is USA (expensive) and couldn't get pass the answering machine. There seems to be no other way to get support. Can anyone here help?

@Robert6209   Unfortunately this is only a discussion group and it is unlikely anyone here will be able to help you.  I think you need to speak to someone in customer support.  I have attached a link which gives the different country phone numbers.  I have always managed to speak directly to them on the U.K. number

check if your phone has overseas calls and SMS disabled

check if your Airbnb profile has the right number registered for example in the form of +386 1 123456 (without 0 in front of your city number)

At some point of registration, you may be asked for PIN  (which is not the same as the verification code.)

 

it is all just a wild guess, could you provide screenshots of your actions and prompts step by step?

 

@Kate867thanks. I called Netherlands and Ireland because they are in EU like Slovenia. The answering machine wants a "verified phone number", which is ironically exactly my problem: I cannot verify it.

@Branka-and-Silvia0receiving an SMS works on all other websites. I am a software developer myself and know a bug when I see one. Some developer at Airbnb should check the error log. But I also know how hard it is to get in contact with big companies.
