Host asks for a copy of passport in Qatar

I have a reservation in Qatar and the host has asked for a copy of my passport (state/governmental reasons).

Is there any regulation that indicates passport registration? Thanks.

Lots of countries require guests to provide photo ID as a legal requirement @Ömer55 (including your own).

 

you should be able to find out on your government embassy site about requirements for Qatar
