I am also wondering why Airbnb only send the check-in instructions a few days before the guest arrives? Why wouldnt they release that information as soon as the person books? I have found this a continual source of frustration as guests say they can't find the check-in instructions, and say they will only get them 3 days before. They also then assume that I will be emailing them the instructions myself!!! I now have to tell every single guest what to do in a separate message, the week before their arrival. I had so many guests ring or message me while I was at work, asking how to get the key for the place!!!
