If my rental allows events, do I have to tell my host about the event?

@Mary1667 of course, they might need additional preparing, why wouldn't you want to tell them?

Someone I know asked the same host to rent out the whole property (6 apts and a shared common area) for X amount of money and once they told the hosts it was for a wedding, they raised the price by $5,000

@Mary1667 yes many hosts have extra fees for events, have you read your hosts listing carefully to see if she has a fee too?

@Mary1667, what do you think would have happened if your friend rented the whole property and didn't tell the host about the wedding? The host walks by, discovers the undisclosed event, and then cancels the reservation while telling everyone to get off her property. Wedding canceled before the bride even walks down the aisle. That is a risky game to play . . .

That's fair. Thank you all for you input!
