Firstly, I'm a Superhost and have been for some time. Why do I have to undergo this convaluted process of this help centre? Superhosts should have a dedicated e-mail and/or phone help. If someone knows of such assistance, please pass on. It's also about time that Superhosts be given some "hard value" for participation.
To specifics: I cancelled a trip to Edinburgh 3 months in advance and was told I would recieve my refund within 10 days. I cancelled on Jan 5 and it's now Jan 21 with no sign of returned funds. Further, it looks like I won't be refunded some $60 in Airbnb fees. Is charging Superhosts fees for booking their own travels not a basic benefit we should be afforded?
Thanks,
Carol-Anne
Can never understand how long it takes to hand back money, when they can take it instantly. I did have to cancel once and got my full amount back, plus without me prompting they said it fell under extenuating circumstances so I got my booking fee back as well.
But that is not your experience - there are dedicated lines for Superhosts - I have the UK one, which will probably be blocked if I put it here, so I will send you a private message - perhaps they can help or give you a number for Canada.
Good luck
Thank you very much for your supportive help. I was supposed to get the almost-full (minus the booking fee) monies back within 10 days, but it's now day 17. Airbnb has had benefit of $660 in funds since Sept 9, 2018. That's 4.5 months of interest (at the very least; maybe they invest the funds and make more?). Multiply that by millions of bookings? They're making more profit from wrangling their cash flow than service fees.
@Carol-Anne3 I'm not aware that superhosts get any special treatment when they are guests.
