help! last minute guest, guest made an enquiry and has arrived without confirming reservation.

So i have a guest who messaged 40 minutes ago, and arrived 10 mintues ago, but they have not confirmed their reservation and  my calender just says days are pending once guest verifies himself and he must do within 12 hours.  

so room could still be booked by someone else?

and  guest may choose not to confirm, where does that leave me?

also if i tried to block the dates he has pending will it cancel his enquiry?

trying to find contact details for airbnb to ask what to do?

can anyone advise please?

@Casa-Amarilla-Alfafara0 This just sounds like a bad recipe... If you are fine with accomodating the guest, just remind them to confirm their reservation first and don't allow them to begin checking in until they do so. I wouldn't mind them being on the property but I would not allow them to unpack or get comfortable until the reservation is actually confirmed. I think if you had pre-approved their request, then the days are blocked and no one else can swoop in and reserve those days.

Honestly......I'd tell them they can't come in without a reservation. I'd point them to the nearest cafe, tell them they need to get a confirmed booking before they can check in. 

Also, pre-approvals don't always block dates so technically if someone else pays first they can swoop in and reserve those days. 

How in the world did the guest get your address? I thought address info was only shared with guests AFTER a confirmed booking?!?!?!?!

Airbnb only releases  address details when an inquiry has been confirmed.

are your sure there is no other email whch shows that the guest confirmed the booking!

Thanks for the responses, its all sorted now and the reservation is now confirmed, he was new to the site and still had to finish verification  which he has now done and confirmed, so its all good, still not sure how they got the address, but we do come up on google maps quite clearly so that could be our answer, but i will inquire, perhaps he could be psychic?
