A guest booked online but the payment did not go through. The reservation is marked <<pending<< and he has 24 hours to update payment method otherwise automatic cancellation.
Problem is he booked for the same day. Now he is messaging that he will not be coming in, but I cannot access the reservation to cancel it because it is still pending. Apparently he cannot cancel his request either - so my calendar is blocked for tonight with a guest who has not paid and who has cancelled.
You could try calling Airbnb and asking them to cancel it, based on messaging that he provided that he does not want to stay.
If you don't want to be on the phone with AirBnb you could just ignore the problem, and if his payment fails then it will cancel itself. You will be out one day's income, but realistically, would you have been able to get someone else in for today anyway?
