PayPal payout?

So contrary to ABNB's indication that PayPal payouts takes 3-4 hours (which is why I chose it) they actually can take up to 5 business days here in Canada. Does anyone else have this 5 business day waiting period!? This is absolutely ridiculous, when you have large sums of money taking 5 business in 2016... 

FYI ABNB this is enough to make me want to just get people to pay me in person and dodge the fees, what's the incentive here?

OMG, today is 7 days later and i still haven't received the money from paypal. when called they said it will take at least 7  to 10 days.

why Paypal then?? why do they say 3-4 hours? really?

The incentive here is that it is theft if you don't. It is a service, you pay for it. Otherwise it is like taking your car to fuel up and driving off without paying.

I get paid directly to my bank account, takes a couple of days max. Do that if you are unhappy with Paypal.

If you use a service, there are fees. If you don't want the fees, you don't use the service. Do you provide any services that I can come and use for free?

I have the PayPal account since 2006. I just linked it to Airbnb as of erred. No one asked fees or no fees. I would definitely pay if asked but wasn't. I just thought it would make sense to link the PayPal account to my Airbnb

My guess is that it is a routing issue, treated maybe as an international payment and takes longer?

@Sara71 and @Tiberius-And-Eduard0, I am in Canada and have paypal and have had no issues at all. Payment is always same day, and in Canadian dollars. I wonder what is different about our accounts. Mine is a personal account, not business. It perhaps should be business, but I set it up years before I had even heard of Airbnb and have not been prompted to change it. 

Is yours a business paypal account? Odd. Hope you get it sorted. It is no fun chasing payments.

Hi Lawrene, I'm glad to hear this works for you. I'm not sure why. I have a personal checking account linked to PayPal but they didn't give me any explanations or options when I've called. She kept saying if is a Canadian account that's what it takes 7-10 days. I'm very disappointed. Is it because of some banks ?

Whoever that was in the call centre, @Tiberius-And-Eduard0, was misinformed. It does not take that long in Canada. My bank is one of the Big Five, and there is no delay. 

I looked more closely at my Paypal account. I have US and CDN currencies selected and US is my primary currency (thanks to a career that sometimes means working for the yankee dollar). The payments from Airbnb are from the UK, and arrive in Canadian dollars, so it should not make a difference, but try this: In Manage Currencies in Wallet in Paypal, select and add US dollars as a new currency and make it primary. Your Canadian dollar balance will still show up, but the US dollar balance of 0 (or whatever it is) will appear on top. 

If that makes your payments arrive same day it will be worth it.

Now that is interesting Lawrene.  I have a personal checking account as well. But when I called them they didn't offer options or explanations. Just told me that's how long it takes. Thanks. Maybe is different banks?

Never came across that before with PayPal.

In the UK it takes seconds - not joking. You get the email and by the time you long on from your phone the money is in your PayPal account. 

Do you have international transactions involved? (ie payment in one country/currency and then exhange to another and transfer to Paypal? If not then I would speak to PayPal and see what the issue is.

I did speak with them and they didn't explain. They told me that's how long it takes. 😞 very disappointing

@Tiberius-And-Eduard0, maybe change payment method? I find the direct banking very reliable.
