Hello everyone 😊,
I hope you’re having a great week!
Hosting guests who travel for work offers unique opportunities and challenges. These guests often value comfort, convenience, and a quiet environment where they can relax after a busy day.
Providing reliable Wi-Fi or a dedicated workspace can make a huge difference. Thoughtful touches like a coffee station or local restaurant recommendations also enhance their stay.
What’s your top tip for hosting guests traveling for work?
I’m looking forward to reading your thoughts!
Warm regards,
Elisa 🌻

Hi @Elisa ,
A place to park a horse trailer! A spot to 'tune' racing skis! A place to hang skis! A safe place to park an expensive racing bikes! A place for gear! Our heated garage turns into a highly relevant amenity that allows us to help address these ideas.
Guests who are traveling to Lake Placid New York for work include coaches who have teams or athletes participating in a local sporting event or to train their athletes. They also need excellent WIFI and a place to sit with their laptop.
So our working guests are a little different but also need the standard desk, internet, etc.
We also get the 'work from home' version of travelers and we have lots of great places to take a zoom call or get after email. This works well for all of the above obviously and includes: a desk with an office chair, monitor and view on the main floor; another desk in a bedroom to shut the door; and a third desk in the loft.
Happy traveling!
Hi @Greystone0 😊,
Thank you for joining the conversation.
That’s funny, ahah!
Do you welcome many guests who work at the same time?
What was the most unusual request you’ve received from them?
Happy hosting!

Hi @Debra180 😊,
Thank you for sharing this here!
That’s a fantastic idea. Do you include everything in a welcome book, or do you present it to your guests in person?
-----
Both.
Thank you for letting me know! 😊
Do you have a digital version of the book?

Bonjour Elisa
Je suis du même avis que les autres pour un petit coin café. Rafraissement ou collation à l’arrivée et être joignable durant le séjour. Bien sûr, le logement se doit d’être propre, paisible et fonctionnel.

Hello Elisa,
I agree with the others about a little coffee corner. Refreshments or snacks on arrival and being contactable during the stay. Of course, the accommodation must be clean, peaceful, and functional.

Hi @Alexia-Lucette0 😊,
Thank you for commenting here.
Those are important points, I agree as well. Do you provide this to your guests too?

Hi @Elisa and everyone,
My top tip for hosting guests traveling for work is to combine reliable technology with thoughtful comfort. High-speed Wi-Fi and a proper workspace are the essentials, but what really makes a difference is balance — a quiet environment, good lighting, and small touches like a coffee/tea station or healthy snacks so they can recharge between meetings.
Work travelers often look for a place that feels as productive as an office but as relaxing as home — if you can provide both, they’ll return again and again.
Hi @Dinesh87 😊,
Thank you for sharing this here!
Those are amazing details that can really make a difference for someone traveling for work. Do you provide these for your guests?
-----
Hi @Elisa ,
Yes, absolutely! For work-traveling guests, I’ve found that creating a work-friendly stay makes a big difference. I always set up reliable high-speed Wi-Fi and a proper desk space so they can be productive during their trip. Alongside that, I like to add thoughtful touches—such as good lighting, a simple tea/coffee station, and a quiet environment—to help them unwind between meetings.
When guests feel both productive and comfortable, their experience is much smoother, and they often mention that balance as a reason they’d be happy to return.
Hi @Dinesh87 😊,
Thank you for your kind reply!
You are such a thoughtful host. 🙏
Where do you set up this space for your guests, in the living room or the bedroom?
-----
A good tip for hosting guests traveling for work is to make their stay stress-free. Provide strong WiFi, a quiet workspace, easy transport options, and clear schedules. Small touches like snacks, local info, or flexible timing really help them feel comfortable and focused.
@Michael10162 Those all sound like good ideas! What do you think is best to provide in terms of workspace?

Merci de jeter un oeil aux Principes du Community Center/ Please follow the Community Guidelines
@Emilie I think the best workspace setup depends on flexibility. A clean desk area with good lighting is essential, but adding options like a quiet corner for focus and a shared table for collaboration can make it even more effective.
